Emerald City Comicon

We finally made it to the Emerald City Comicon this year and it was a total blast. We saw so many awesome comic artists at work and dedicated fans in their superhero costumes. We went on probably the busiest day with a lot to see and do.

We really like Fringe, so John Noble and Jasika Nicole were a total delight. They were funny and shared a lot of stories about the show, and we found out she got her start at Comicon as a talented illustrator.

I have to say that for me, the highlight was seeing Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes from the cast of Star Trek TNG! I still can’t get over it :) We spend a lot of late nights catching up on old TNG episodes, especially for me because they finished airing on TV right before I moved to this country. Spiner and Frakes were hilarious together and there were many good questions asked and little jokes they shared. Spiner’s Picard impression was awesome. My favorite thing anyone said that day was Frakes explaining how he practices the Prime Directive in his life and shouldn’t everyone!

Brian’s highlight was meeting William Shatner (who he now calls “Bill”) and getting his photo with Captain Kirk (see below :) OK I’ll stop geeking out but it was a day in dreamland for any comic book or sci fi geek and we can’t wait to go next year!
