Seattle celebrated 40 years of LGBT pride in beautiful weather this weekend. Being both a supporter of marriage equality and a Star Trek fan, it was extra fabulous to see George Takei as the grand marshal for the pride parade, addressing the crowd at Seattle Center.
Mr. Sulu was his usual awesome self. He mentioned there were half a million people in attendance, and thanked the people of Seattle for being so vocal and active for LGBT rights, and for such a long time. My favorite thing he said was that people should also thank straight couples who are supporters of LGBTQ rights, because they are the parents of the gay babies of the future!
